Prepared to Carry

“…they shall walk, and not faint.”

Isaiah 40:31

Imagine a woman who is nine months pregnant.

She’s tired. Her body hurts. Sleeping is uncomfortable. Walking is harder, and she may be saying, “I’m ready for this baby to come!”

But here’s the question:

Would you really want the baby to come before it is ready?

You may be ready for the discomfort to end, but there are still things developing that you cannot see.

And sometimes that’s exactly what happens while we’re waiting on God.

We say, “God, I’m tired. When is this going to happen?”

But God knows what is still developing.

Sometimes the promise is developing.

And sometimes YOU are developing so you can carry the promise.

Isaiah says:

They shall walk and not faint.

There will be seasons when you soar.

There will be seasons when you run.

But there will also be seasons when your greatest act of faith is simply to keep walking.

One step at a time.

Don’t confuse being tired with being finished.

Don’t allow the discomfort of carrying something to make you abandon what God placed inside of you.

The vision has weight.

The calling has weight.

The assignment has weight.

The promise has weight.

God is developing your capacity to carry it.

So if God says keep walking—

Keep walking.

Don’t rush the delivery because you’re tired of carrying.

Let God finish developing what He started.

You waited.

You were strengthened.

You learned to rise.

You learned to run.

Now God is teaching you how to carry it to completion without fainting.

You don’t just need strength to receive the promise. You need strength to carry it.
