When Moses went up the mountain, the people lost their direction.
In Exodus 32, Moses went to seek God, but because he took longer than expected, the Israelites panicked
Why?
• God had become Moses’s God, not their God.
• They did not have a prayer life,
• They did not seek God,
• They did not ask for direction.
• They did not know him.
They were used to being led
But they never learned to follow God for themselves.
If they had a relationship with Him, they would have said:
“Lord, where is Moses?”
“God, what should we do?”
“Father, bring him back safely to us.”
“Lord, Help us “
“ Father, are you with Us? “
But instead, they chose what was comfortable:
complaining, pressuring Aaron, and creating something they could control.
And just like that, they fell into idolatry.
Witchcraft is usually not planned but most people just fall into it.
At times, it’s just because they can no longer see or touch the leader.
This is what happens when your connection to God is borrowed instead of built.
When you rely only on your pastor, your mentor, or your leader the moment they are not accessible, you will feel lost, drop off the map.
The Israelites already had an idol in their heart,
They already had a Golden calf called Moses,
And when they couldn’t see him, they built it.
God said to Moses : “Your people..” because they did not have a relationship with him.
Jesus said “ My sheep knows my voice”
How do you intend to know his voice without a relationship with him ?
Learn to seek Him.
Learn to hear Him.
Learn to ask Him for direction.
Is the God of Moses your God ?
